In Yilan’s post, she talked about the sharing-bike system which became normal and popular as a sustainable transport. Sustainable mobility gives the suggest finding an effective way to product a consumption system which satisfies a demand for transportation (Vezzoli, et al., 2008). Nowadays, the public bicycle systems, or bike sharing system is under development. China has joined the countries in developing bike-sharing schemes when suffering from the air pollution and traffic jams. As Yilan mentioned that transport is one of the most challenging issues in sustainable urban development. The bike-sharing system does solve plenty of problems as green transport mode. Bikes could be using to connect with buses and other transport.

Ofo and Mobike, each of them has more than 7 million bikes in operation in more than 170 Chinese cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou (Chen, 2017). They gain success in China by taken different ways. However, there are also some problems. The bikes are often parked haphazardly and infringe on urban spaces.

In Beijing Iike-on-demand services like Mobike and Ofo have been making inroads, but problems of disorderly parking, theft, and sabotage have emerged as bike-sharing gains in popularity. Beijing News has reported at least 7 cases of destroyed bikes in a month in Beijing (Chinadaily, 2016). Further, there is not enough linking systems such as bike highways and bike parking spaces that can support the bike-sharing systems.

The company of Mobike said it has placed 7 million bikes worldwide for more than 200 million registered users and 30 million rides per day. However, in Amsterdam, the bike-sharing companies have removed almost all their bicycles themselves. It is estimated approximately 4,000 bikes, around 150 were left.  Rotterdam aims to be the best Dutch bicycle city in 2018. According to the municipality, about 160,000 of its 600,000 inhabitants take their bikes each day. There are enough wide streets and 600 km of bike lanes and 17,200 sheltered parking spaces and bicycle racks on the street in the city. And the city believes that dockless sharing bikes could be a solution of better traffic flow (Chinadaily, 2017). The sharing bike system itself does not cause the problems. It depends on the urban planning and how to build a suitable travel networks in the urban areas.
